“To be free—to walk the good American earth as equal citizens, to live without fear, to enjoy the fruits of our toil, to give our children every opportunity in life—that dream which we have held so long in our hearts is today the destiny that we hold in our hands.”

Henry Roundtree
Henry Roundtree is an insurance broker and former board member of the West Philadelphia Cultural Alliance. His aunt, Evelyn Bennett, owned the house next door to the Robeson House. In her will, she gave the Alliance first right of refusal to buy the house. As there were many interested buyers, this enabled the Alliance to purchase the house and locate their offices there, thereby maintaining the integrity of the Robeson House.
